Book Selection
Each month we choose two books to read together as a community: a mix of fiction & non-fiction. Books will be selected based on availability, diversity and topic — across all genres — and must inspire growth, love or positive transformation of some kind.
We believe that reading fiction is a powerful tool for self-care and personal growth. It provides an escape from our reality, relieves stress, and is one of the greatest empathy teachers of all time.
If you have a book suggestion, let us know! We’re always open to recommendations for great reads, especially new titles.
Online Community
At the core of Shelf Love is a community of like-minded individuals who love books, love learning & are passionate about personal and/or communal transformation. We encourage all members to engage, connect, reach out.
Our meetups, our online community, every container that we create together is a safe space. Think … book club meets therapy. We value the fun, connection & accountability of the book club model and partner it with the confidentiality & compassion emphasized in support groups.
Events & Book Clubs
We will be hosting live online gatherings twice a month, alternating fiction and non-fiction reads. Bring your own snacks, some tea, and join us from the comfort of your own couch!
Our conversations will be thoughtful and lightly guided with prompts and exercises — and largely focused on how the topic affects our personal experiences. It’s a time to share, and even more importantly, to listen.
Don’t have time to finish the book one month? No big deal, come anyway!
